East Skate Club isn’t just a skate club — it’s a movement, a community

Born out of a passion for skateboarding, rollerblading, scootering, BMX, and all things wheeled and wild, we’re a registered charitable trust on a mission to create real opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to experience the freedom, joy, and community that action sports bring.

We operate SonSk8 Indoor Skatepark, Auckland’s only full-time indoor skate facility, based in Glen Innes. But we’re more than a venue. We're a hub for positive youth development, physical activity, creativity, and social inclusion.

Our Why

Because Aotearoa needs more than fields, courts, and rinks.

We believe skateparks are just as essential as sports fields. Wheeled play is one of the fastest-growing recreational pastimes in the world — but it’s often overlooked in funding, policy, and planning. We exist to change that.

We provide access to safe, purpose-built spaces for skating in a city where weather and infrastructure can often cut that short. We advocate for equity in sports funding. We teach life skills through skateboarding. And we build inclusive spaces where kids, teens, and adults — from all backgrounds — feel they belong.
